Fencing materials come in as many types, styles, and varieties as your imagination can come up with. Stone, brick, and concrete provide optimal protection from intrusion, but require the most labor intensive installations and are often quite expensive. Wood is beautiful and cheap, but requires regular maintenance to maintain its aesthetic quality. Wrought iron fencing sections can be easily installed, and are quite beautiful, but come at a premium. Depending on your needs and budget, you are guaranteed to find a fencing material that is both beautiful and functional.
These come in a host of different materials. There are link chain options made from metal, there are PVC designs and then there are the wooden options. Cedar fence is probably the most appealing of all the wooden options available on the market today.
Cedar fence designs are a welcome addition to any American home. Homes are often seen as family homes once they are surrounded by a white picket fence. But there are so many different options available to enhance the property, increase privacy and keep children and pets safe and away from the street.
The most common style of privacy fence is the basic, treated pine, privacy fence which is made by simply butting pickets together so that it’s difficult to see between them. This is the style that you see used in most neighborhoods to give homeowners privacy in their backyards. A lot of people have the misconception that once they get one of these fences built that nobody will be able to see through the fence. This is not the case most of the time. Pressure treated wood has a tendency to shrink as it dries out. This means that even if your fence is built with all the boards touching tight together, gaps will eventually form between the pickets in almost all cases.
