While the installation of these fencing options may sound basic enough, they can be rather tricky, so ensure you have some understanding of DIY before you begin. The first step is placing one of these items around your home is to choose where to place your first post. This will be in the corner of the property or against the house, depending where you want to start the fencing. It is here where you will have to dig your first post hole. Ensure you have good soil hardness, as it needs to be durable enough to hold the fence in all weather conditions. Dig a deep enough post hole, paying attention to the depth compared to the height of the item. Once you put the first post into place, you will want to ensure it is plumb using a spirit level before you start filling the hole. Compact the soil as you fill, constantly double checking the post is still plumb until the hole is completely filled. The next step is then to use a mason line for the length of the fence to the next post, this will help you ensure you place the pole at the right height and at the right angle. Do the same again until you have completed all the posts needed. Next take the first panel of fencing and slot into place, ensuring it is completely level before screwing it into place.
The lattice-top privacy fence is the third most popular style of wood privacy fencing. This design starts out as a basic privacy with the addition of lattice added to the top. The lattice gets framed in with additional lumber for support. Most people agree that the lattice top is the best looking of the three styles. The only drawback is the price. The material cost is higher, and there’s a considerable amount of additional labor involved.
With solid and clean lines, stockade wood fences provide a visual barrier. You could use it if you wanted to fence in a garbage storage area or anything else which you do not want to be visible. Pre-assembled stockade fence panels are easily obtainable, making installation fast, easy, and economical. These panels are easy to cut down in size to fit your requirements. This is cost effective. Lattice fencing can be useful for light screening, particularly if it is used as a backdrop for climbing plants and it is good for partial privacy. An attractive option is to have a solid bottom with a lattice work top. This is usually an acceptable good neighbor option as you both have privacy, you are not taking all the sunlight and you can still talk over the top! Split-rail wood fences are a useful fence style for defining boundaries and for horse fencing and fencing in livestock. They are more likely to be found out of town and look good with rustic ranch-style houses. They usually have rough and rugged posts and rails and as all the post and rails are slightly different in size and shape this kind of fence is always unique. They are not very easy to install, although each post has pre-drilled holes for the horizontal rails to fit into and the rails are tapered on each end to fit these holes.
Despite being beautiful to behold and graceful movement, deer can destroy the most well-kept lawn within minutes. To avoid such catastrophe, you can install wrought iron fence designs or wood fence designs to make the backyard inaccessible by wildlife.
